How often should you get your house cleaned?

How often you should get your house cleaned depends on who lives there, how big it is, and how much mess you're willing to live with between visits. There's no single right answer, but there are a few patterns we see over and over. Here's how to choose.

Every two weeks: the most common choice

Most of our recurring clients book every two weeks. Bathrooms and kitchens don't get far enough behind to need extra time, floors stay under control, and you're not paying for a visit every week.

It works well for couples, small families, and anyone who does some light tidying in between.

It's also the easiest schedule to keep. Two weeks is long enough that you'll notice the difference when we come, and short enough that nothing gets truly out of hand. If you travel a lot or have a busy season at work, it's simple to skip a visit and pick back up.

Weekly: busy homes, kids, and pets

Weekly cleaning makes sense for bigger households, homes with young kids, or pets that shed. Hair, crumbs, and bathroom use pile up fast. Weekly visits also suit people who want the house guest-ready at all times or who work from home and see the mess every day.

Because the home never falls far behind, weekly visits tend to go quickly.

Monthly: tidy homes and tight budgets

Monthly cleaning works if you keep up with dishes, counters, and quick bathroom wipe-downs yourself. The monthly visit catches the stuff you don't get to, like mopping properly and dusting the whole house.

Expect monthly visits to take a little longer than more frequent ones, since there's more to catch up on each time.

Monthly is also a good way to try out a cleaning service before committing to more. You'll learn how long a visit takes, what you want us to focus on, and whether you'd like us around more often.

Where deep cleaning fits in

No matter which schedule you pick, most homes benefit from a deep clean once or twice a year. That's when baseboards, vents, fan blades, blinds, and grout get attention. And if you're starting a recurring schedule for the first time, a deep clean on the first visit makes every visit after it easier.

Questions to ask yourself

How many people live in the house, and how much time do they spend there? Do you have pets that shed or kids who track in dirt? How many bathrooms get used every day? And honestly, how much does a messy house bother you? The more of these point toward a busy, lived-in home, the more often you'll want a visit.

Budget matters too. If every two weeks is a stretch, monthly visits with a seasonal deep clean still make a real difference. You can always move to a tighter schedule later if it feels like the house is falling behind between visits.

Try it and adjust

You don't have to get it right the first time. Start every two weeks, see how the house feels on the off week, and adjust. Call (404) 772-9403 or book online and we'll help you pick a starting point.
